Follow
the guidelines for your application.
To reduce the risk of delaying your order, please see our tips
for your specific application. Unusually large files and files
which are not prepared correctly may require additional charges.

Use the correct color model.
Images within files saved for output should be scanned in RGB
format. In Quark Xpress™ use the Pantone™ Prosim to match our
color chart. In Illustrator or Corel Draw, use the Pantone™
Process Chart. Make sure that each element in your file has
the correct color model applied to it. We don't advise relying
on your monitor's display to select colors, use a Pantone™ Process
Color chart if available. ALWAYS REQUEST A PROOF IF YOU
ARE TRYING TO MATCH A COLOR, or we can supply
a color chart upon request to match colors.

Use the correct format for the graphics in your file.
Vector
graphics; Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand, should not be converted
to a pixel-based image for use in a page-layout program such
as PageMaker or Quark Xpress. Try to place them into your documents
as EPS. It is widely assumed that the most popular graphics
format is either bitmap or TIF, however converting a vector-based
image to one of these pixel-based formats usually results in
large file sizes and may cause pixilation (jagged edges) when
enlarged for output.

Don't over-scan your photos.
See our Scanning Tips for
optimal results.

Use Postscript Fonts or Convert TrueType to Curves (Outlines)
Postscript fonts are supported for both MAC and
PC. You must include both the bitmap and the printer font with
your file. If you use TrueType fonts in a vector-based
program like Illustrator, Corel Draw or Freehand, you should
convert your text to curves before creating your final EPS or
PS file. ^ back to top
Use a file compression program. To reduce your file size
and create a "package" when sending by modem, e-mail or FTP,
use WinZip (PC) or Stuff-It (MAC). You can download WinZip
for free. ^ back to top
Fax a proof with your order.
When sending files to us either by modem, e-mail or FTP, preflight
your file's output on your printer first (scaled to fit), then
fax us a copy with your order. This will help us to make sure
the fonts and layout appear correctly when opened on our system.
